Castra

An all-day terrace bar high on the ramparts of Ano Poli, Castra claims one of the widest views in the city — a covered, turf-floored terrace that looks straight down over the red-tiled roofs of the old town to the whole sweep of Thessaloniki and the Thermaic Gulf. It runs from morning coffee and freddo through to evening drinks, the panorama shifting from bright daytime to the city lights at night. Worth the climb up through the upper town for the view alone.
