A cosy traditional taverna up in Ano Poli near the acropolis walls, its wooden 'Konaki' sign over a warm room lined with old sepia photographs of Thessaloniki, copper jugs and gingham-striped tables. The cooking is honest, home-style Greek — fried small fish, grills, seasonal meze and slow-cooked plates — served without fuss to a mostly local crowd.
