- April warms fast (highs climbing to around 19°C). Days turn reliably pleasant, the parks and the Ano Poli hillside green up, and by late April it's prime sightseeing weather.
- May is close to ideal: warm days in the comfortable low-to-mid 20s°C, long light evenings, and café terraces spilling onto the pavements. It's arguably the best month of the year to be here.

Why spring wins
Late spring (mid-April to early June) combines everything that makes a city break easy: warm-but-not-punishing temperatures, the waterfront and Ano Poli at their greenest, and full-but-not-heaving streets. You get comfortable walking weather for the monuments and the seafront, lower prices than peak summer, and a city that's fully open — without August's heat and humidity. What to do in spring
Spring is made for being outside without wilting. Walk the whole waterfront to the Umbrellas, climb the green lanes of Ano Poli for the view, and linger over long lunches on terraces that are open again after winter. It's also prime day-trip season — the countryside is at its greenest, the wildflowers are out around Vergina and Pella, and the mountains are still capped with snow for the view.
