Kafodeio

A beautifully preserved café-concert on Venizelou in the old commercial heart of the city, Kafodeio (Καφωδείο) revives the belle-époque tradition of the Greek music hall — ornate stucco ceilings, a grand chandelier, red velvet drapes and a small stage where live bands play into the night. The long marble bar backs onto a deep wall of spirits, and shelves of vintage radios, gramophones and curios line the room. Come for old Greek song and rebetiko in a setting that feels lifted from another century.
