Ano Poli Old Town Walking Tour
Ano Poli is the only quarter the Great Fire of 1917 spared, so its tangle of stone alleys, timber houses and Byzantine walls still feels like the old Thessaloniki. A licensed guide leads you uphill past hidden churches and surviving Ottoman corners to viewpoints that take in the whole city and the Thermaic Gulf. The walk usually ends near the Trigonion Tower, often called the city's most beautiful balcony.
