A small church of around 1310–1320 in the upper town whose interior is covered, almost wall to wall, with exceptionally well-preserved Palaiologan frescoes — spared because, unusually among the city's Byzantine churches, it was never turned into a mosque under Ottoman rule, so its walls were never plastered over.

For its near-complete set of early-14th-century frescoes, considered among the finest Byzantine wall paintings preserved anywhere.
Unusually among the city's Byzantine churches, this small chapel of around 1310–1320 was never converted into a mosque under Ottoman rule, so its Palaiologan frescoes were never plastered over or destroyed — leaving an almost wall-to-wall set of early-14th-century wall paintings intact. It's a UNESCO-listed monument.
