A busy neighbourhood psarotaverna out in Ampelokipi, northwest of the centre, its blue-lettered sign a fixture on the corner and its pavement tables shaded by a plane tree. The kitchen keeps to what a fish taverna does well — whole fish off the grill with olive oil and lemon, fried seafood meze, grilled octopus and cold plates — all fairly priced and washed down with ouzo. It draws a steady local crowd rather than tourists, which is the point.
